Find and replace URLs with Elementor

Moving sites to better hosting, or simply migrating sites from a lab environment to bringing them online is now easier with the help of several different plugins. Some hosting services (like ours) include it as part of their service. It sounds simple to do but can get quite tedious, especially when URLs get mixed up in the process. For example, images may disappear due to broken links.

These concerns no longer exist since Elementor provides a tool to find and replace URLs on your website.

1. Go to Elementor > Tools > Replace URL

2. Enter your old URL and your new URL. Click on Replace URL once defined.

NOTE: Always triple check if the old URL and new URL are correct. Otherwise, the replacement could end up breaking the paths of all the links on your website.

3. On the General > Regenerate CSS tab, click Regenerate Files.

NOTE: This step is to ensure that the URLs are updated throughout the site. You may also need to clear your site's cache (if you use a cache generator plugin like WPRocket or LiteSpeed).

4. Under Settings > General in your WordPress Dashboard, make sure the URLs are the same.
