Manage and Configure Mail Accounts
Updated last month
In this quick guide, we explain how to create email accounts from our control panel, how to access them, and how to manage them.
The first step is to log in to your control panel. You can do this by visiting https://cpanel.misitio.com (replacing misitio.com with your domain).
Remember to replace "misitio.com" with your domain's actual URL.
After logging in, please click here:
Once this is done, we will see a screen with the Create button. This is what we need to click to create new email accounts. If email accounts were created previously, we will also see them here (if we have never created an account, the columns will logically appear empty). We will discuss this screen in more detail later.
After this step, we will access the screen for creating a new email account. In the field highlighted with an orange box (shown in the screenshot below), we will enter the account name WITHOUT @misitio.com
For example, we can enter juan.perez, administración, ventas, info, contacto, or any other account name based on our needs.
In the field below, we will create a password. If we wish, we can click the Generate button to create a random, extremely strong password—a "weak" password, on the other hand, would be something like 123456, our name and a year, or any other "obvious" choice that a robot could uncover through "brute force" (automatically trying combinations of numbers and common words).
The system indicates the security level of our password using horizontal bars. This will serve as a guide and reassure us that the password is sufficiently difficult to crack.
After entering a password that the system validates as secure, we will click the blue Create button, and that's it!
On the next screen, we will see a confirmation message and our newly created account in the email list.
Three buttons next to the account may be useful to us.
The first button, Check Email, allows us to access webmail, that is, the online client for composing and deleting emails, creating rules and folders, and more. The first window presents several options and tools, but if we only want to access the email account we created, we will click the button indicated in the screenshot below.
We should also remember that we can always conveniently access our email accounts at webmail.misitio.com
Returning to the login screen in cPanel, we can see tools that may be useful, such as creating autoresponders or filtering rules.
The second button next to the created email account, Manage, allows us to manage the account.
After clicking it, we will see the following control panel. The screenshot explains each detail.
The third button, "Connect Devices," makes it easy to configure our email on different clients and platforms, such as Outlook. Note that the first section of the panel creates configuration files for different options. With the file we download, we can add our email account to the selected platform with one click. We also have the configuration details needed to do this manually.
We have reached the end of the guide. Thank you for reading, and we wish you success in your ventures.
