Bulk email account creation

cPanel’s Address Importer lets you create multiple email accounts in a single operation by uploading a CSV or XLS file instead of creating them one at a time. The tool is located in the panel’s Email section under Address Importer.

Requirements

You need access to cPanel and the tool must be enabled for your account. If you don’t know how to sign in yet, see How to log in to the cPanel control panel.

In cPanel, open the Email section and click Address Importer in the left sidebar.

Prepare the file

Prepare a CSV or XLS file with one account per row. cPanel documents three pieces of data per account: username or email address, password, and quota. For example: [email protected], Password, 10.

The domain does not need to be part of the username: you can use user1 or [email protected]. If your file includes a domain column, you can map it in the wizard.

The file can use a comma, period, or another consistent delimiter. If the delimiter does not appear in the list, choose Other and enter it manually.

Column headers are not required. If your file has a first row of headers, select Treat first row as column headers.

Import the accounts

The wizard guides you through uploading the file, selecting the delimiter, and mapping columns.

  1. On the first screen, leave Email Accounts selected (it is the default option) and click Choose File to upload your CSV or XLS file.

  2. If the file is a CSV, choose the delimiter it uses (comma, period, or another delimiter). If it does not appear in the list, choose Other and enter it manually.

  3. If your file has a first row of headers, select Treat first row as column headers.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Map each column using the menus at the top: Email, Password, and Domain. Assign any columns you do not need to Ignore.

  6. Select the domain from the Domain menu.

  7. Click Next, then Finish to create the accounts.

To import another file, click Import More, which takes you back to the first screen.

Passwords and limits

Imported passwords must achieve a security score of 65 or higher. You can generate strong passwords from cPanel under Preferences > Password & Security.

The Email Accounts screen shows the total account quota allowed by your plan and how many accounts you have created. cPanel hosting plans include unlimited email accounts. Other plans may have specific limits; check your plan’s terms.
