Review incoming and outgoing email logs
Updated last month
The Monitor Delivery tool in cPanel is very useful for diagnosing various issues. It allows us to view the logs of incoming and outgoing emails to and from the hosting plan, and also makes it possible to check whether an email was sent or not, including whether an email bounced or was even blocked.
This tool is also useful for reviewing the results of scripts sent from web forms, or for checking whether someone is sending malicious or unwanted emails using your email accounts.
To use this tool, first access your control panel by entering the following path in your web browser.
(note: replace "mydomain.com" with your site's actual URL)
Once logged in, look for the tool in the Email section.
After clicking the tool, focus on the area highlighted in the screenshot below. Next, we'll explain what each option displays.
Show successes: Lists emails that were sent and/or received successfully. You can determine whether an email was sent or received based on whether the recipient includes email addresses from your web domain.
Show deferred and Show failures: As their names indicate, these options display emails that could not be sent for some reason or that were blocked when entering the server. Usually, these blocks are caused by an anti-spam service, an RBL or DNSBL listing, or an issue with the DNS service.
Show in progress: Displays emails that are in the sending queue but have not yet been sent—or bounced. Note: usually, they remain in the queue for only a few minutes.
Keep in mind that you will only see emails in this list if you are using your email service's MX records. If you use another service (for example, Google Apps or Zoho Mail), you will only see emails sent through forms or scripts on our server (if applicable).
